Garage door project
Project Type: Garage door
Project Address: Mohave Valley, AZ
Project Description:
Our team recently completed a residential garage door upgrade for a property in Mohave Valley, Arizona. This project involved installing a 16'x21" double-layer insulated garage door engineered to enhance thermal efficiency, structural rigidity, and smooth daily operation.
The project began with the complete removal and safe teardown of the existing door assembly, tracking, and hardware. Our technicians inspected the structural jambs and rough opening to ensure the frame was plumb, square, and fully prepared before mounting the new double-wide door system.
We installed a heavy-duty, double-layer insulated door featuring a steel exterior paired with a thermal insulation layer. Built with a classic White short-panel design, this door provides exceptional structural strength and energy performance. In Mohave Valley's desert climate, an insulated double-layer construction is crucial for creating an effective barrier against radiant heat, keeping the garage interior cooler and reducing heat transfer into the surrounding home.
Our crew installed commercial-grade vertical and horizontal tracks, heavy-duty hinges, and quiet-glide rollers for smooth travel along the opening. We set up and wound a custom-calibrated torsion spring assembly matched to the exact weight of the 16-foot insulated door, ensuring accurate counterbalancing and minimal strain on the automatic operator. To complete the setup, we fitted durable perimeter weather stripping and a bottom astragal seal to keep out blowing desert dust, heat infiltration, and pests.
By combining an energy-efficient insulated core with a timeless short-panel aesthetic, we delivered a long-lasting, heavy-duty garage door solution built for desert performance. This project highlights our technical accuracy in double-wide garage door replacements, insulation retrofits, and weather-sealed installations.
